Diving

Jed had his first dive meet this Wednesday. I had so much fun watching him dive for the fisrt time. He is pretty good and he stayed far enough from the board that I did not gasp once. They hand out scores 1-10 as long as you complete the attempted dive. The highest score given for the night was one 6, the coach said that getting a five is pretty good for this level of competition. Jed had mostly 5's and 5 1/2. He dove for the JV team for this meet and got 1st place. There was one dive that he did some flips and twists and ended head first in the water with an "olympic-like" splash. It was really cool. (Jed will be disappointed that I don't know the names). Funny story - he was trying to explain to Kelsie and me what each dive name was and details of what that meant he was doing before hitting the water. Everytime he told us the five directional technical name Kelsie would respond by speaking to him in Spanish to emphasize her lack of understanding. It was hilarious.
